Hands-On Training with Live Demo Classes
Join us for an engaging in-person Musikgarten training focused on At Home in the World, Around the World, and Group Piano 1. This immersive experience is designed to help teachers build confidence, deepen their understanding of the curriculum, and gain practical tools they can immediately use in their classrooms.
This training will be led by Rebecca Cauthron, an experienced Musikgarten educator and teacher trainer known for her engaging teaching style and deep understanding of child-centered music learning. Training Breakdown
At Home in the World
This level focuses on helping children develop musical independence while strengthening listening, singing, and movement skills. Topics include:
- Building musical vocabulary
- Developing singing voices and pitch accuracy
- Rhythm pattern learning
- Creative movement for musical understanding
- Instrument ensemble experiences
- Structuring engaging classes for young learners
Participants will observe and take part in a live demo class while learning practical strategies for teaching this level successfully.
Around the World
Explore global musical traditions while continuing to build strong foundational musicianship. This session includes:
- Introducing world music and cultural experiences
- Expanding rhythm and tonal understanding
- Creative movement and dance
- Ensemble playing and listening skills
- Encouraging musical independence
- Connecting music to storytelling and culture
This portion includes a live demo class and hands-on activities designed to bring the curriculum to life.
Group Piano 1
Group Piano 1 introduces children to keyboard skills through an aural, movement-based approach. This training covers:
- Beginning keyboard technique
- Aural-based learning and rote playing
- Coordinating singing, movement, and keyboard work
- Introducing notation in a developmentally appropriate way
- Structuring successful group piano classes
- Classroom setup and pacing for multiple students
You will observe a live Group Piano demo class and participate in hands-on keyboard activities that prepare you to confidently teach beginner group piano.
This in-person training is ideal for:
- Teachers expanding into upper-level Musikgarten classes
- Studio owners adding Group Piano programs
- Educators wanting hands-on experience
