Family Music for Toddlers 1: My Day (Ages 1 to 3 1/2 years)

My Day is Musikgarten’s joyful, research-based toddler curriculum designed to support children ages 1–3 through music, movement, and meaningful parent–child interaction. Built around a toddler’s everyday experiences (waking up, playing, exploring, resting, and saying goodbye), this curriculum helps young children make sense of their world through song and purposeful activity.

In My Day, teachers guide caregivers and toddlers through a carefully sequenced class that includes singing, chanting, lap bounces, movement games, simple instruments, and listening activities. Each experience supports early musical skills while also nurturing language development, coordination, emotional regulation, and social connection. Parents are active participants, learning how music strengthens bonding and supports development at home.

Taught by Mary Louise Wilson, this curriculum is intentionally simple to teach yet deeply effective. Teachers learn how to pace a class for short attention spans, manage transitions smoothly, and create a warm, predictable environment where toddlers feel secure and successful. The emphasis is not on performance, but on process—allowing each child to grow musically and developmentally at their own pace.
