SUMMER 2006 PROGRAMS
MUSIKGARTEN WANTS TO BE
PART OF YOUR SUMMER!

“Nimble & Quick” and “Twist & Turn” – Our Newest Mixed-Age Programs!
Announced earlier under the working title “Mother Goose and Father Duck,” Musikgarten’s newest offerings – available April 1, 2006 – have been co-authored by Lorna Heyge and Martha Hallquist as two eight-week units. Parents will receive a family packet with CD, parent book, and either an instrument or manipulative. Preview these programs yourself at the 2006 Musikgarten Festival or at Musikgarten Day in Baltimore, Cincinnati, or St. Paul!

“Nature’s Music” for Mixed Ages!
This supplement to our popular toddler program allows you to invite families with babies through 4-year-olds to share in the fun. Parents with more than one young child will appreciate these lessons, which will benefit their active “creepers, leapers, and singers.”

“Camping at the Seashore”

Make Music Makers at Home’s “Seashore” program a summer event for your families! “Let’s Go to the Seashore” is a five-day camp that will give children 2-3 hours daily of music and art activities centering on a seashore theme. Features include making an instrument to take home, family time with siblings to end each day, and story time about the magical seashore.

  Marketing Your Summer Program
Professionally designed flyers are available to help you market all of Musikgarten’s summer programs, including “My Musical World” (0-4), “Nature’s Music” (toddler or 0-4), “Cycles: Summer Edition: (3-5), “My Neighborhood Community” (4-6), “Let’s Go to the Seashore” (4-7), “Nature Trail” (4-7), “Nimble & Quick,” and “Twist & Turn.” Each flyer describes lesson activities and includes a parent testimonial. Flyers and lesson supplements are available free of charge to licensed Musikgarten teachers. Perfect for summer, T-shirts featuring the Musikgarten logo plus “Music Brings Kids to Life!” are offered at $8.00 each, plus shipping.

ADVANCE NOTICE FOR SCHOOL-YEAR PLANNING
Musikgarten does everything possible to hold down the costs of its programs and materials. We believe that all children should have access to music, and we recognize that music teachers must keep a close eye on their budgets. Where possible, we pass our savings along to you. For example, the price of Musikgarten banners was recently decreased by over 50%, thanks to a new supplier this year. And, we are pleased to say that you have seen no increase in price for Musikgarten family and teacher materials over the past five years.

After much thought and analysis, we have found it imperative to make price adjustments, effective June 1, 2006. Musikgarten will adopt a two-tiered pricing structure, one applicable to purchases by unlicensed buyers, and the other applying to purchases by licensed Musikgarten teachers. The cost of teacher materials will not increase for licensed Musikgarten teachers; the cost of family materials will increase by approximately 5%. For instruments sold by Musikgarten, variable rate increases will apply, as driven by market forces worldwide.

United Parcel Service, Musikgarten’s primary shipping service, has raised its rates to customers like Musikgarten by almost 7% over a 12-month period, without our having passed these increased costs on to you. Effective February 15, 2006, Musikgarten will increase its shipping and handling charges by approximately 1% of the value of goods purchased.

We appreciate your understanding of the economic forces that necessitate periodic cost adjustments. More than anything else, we at Musikgarten wish to ensure the value of your continued investment in our educational products for teachers, children, and their families. We look forward to many years of continuing work with a vibrant and growing community of music educators throughout the world – especially you!
