Three years ago, I was a mother of three and a busy marketing executive at a Fortune 500 company. Then it happened. I was downsized. You hear about it, but you never think it will happen to you. Luckily, it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened for me!

I’ve always been a family oriented person, but my career had taken some of that away from me.

One of my priorities for my three girls was early childhood music education. I was always an enthusiastic supporter of it and my girls really seemed to enjoy and benefit from it.

With my new opportunity to change careers, I decided to focus on my passion for teaching. In mid 2001, I started my own studio with 20 children and the desire to be successful.

By 2002, I realized that I needed more training. That summer, I took three Musikgarten workshops covering birth to age 6. Musikgarten provided me with the training in early childhood music and movement that I was missing. Now I had the confidence and knowledge I needed to be a great teacher.

In three years my studio has grown to 22 classes with over 220 students. This is the rewarding and flexible experience I was looking for!
