New Music Makers: At the Keyboard Year 2 Teacher Guide
and Children’s Books 3 and 4 now available.

In our ongoing work with Music Makers: At the Keyboard, we have had numerous opportunities to share ideas and challenges and to hone our teaching skills. Through email and at an annual Keyboard Day, we have had the chance to communicate with many of you on a fairly regular basis! An enduring request has been to have the material from Year 2 - the current blue and yellow books – presented over a longer period of time. We listened and have taken steps to do exactly that. And while we have added some new material, it is limited and has been carefully chosen to either prepare or practice concepts already presented in the current edition.

The three authors of Music Makers: At the Keyboard have been hard at work and Musikgarten will have new materials available by June 15, 2007. Those items will be:

NEW Teacher Guide 2 for Lessons 31-60
NEW Children’s Book 3 (purple) for Lessons 31-45
NEW Children’s Book 4 (blue) for Lessons 46-60

The program AS IT NOW EXISTS continues to be available! So you may choose which one is best for you and your students, for at least the next academic year.

We are very excited to offer you the new possibilities. As we taught the program, we wanted to spend more time preparing each step, as well as more time on each piece. And as stated above, we have not introduced further difficulties, but rather spent more time developing the material that was already in the currently published Teacher Guide 2.

We are pleased about these changes, and we think you will be as well. We know that many of you have worked very hard to be successful at teaching Music Makers: At the Keyboard, and we think these changes will help facilitate the success of both you and your students.
